Fokus Film Festival

 Call out for Coordinators & Volunteer Positions for Fokus Film Festival 2015 

Fokus Film Festival is the only festival for student film at McGill University, hosted annually by TVM. This is a space for the showcase and celebration of McGill students’ original short films from a variety of genres. TVM is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the team that will bring together McGill’s and Montreal’s film community in this unique event.

Logistics Coordinator:

Contact film and media professionals and/or professors to participate in the festival as judges. Coordinate the the selection of films from the submissions. Oversee details related to operational logistics on the day the event, including venue set-up, catering, and scheduling.

Publicity Coordinator:

Distribute all promotional materials in collaboration with the Graphics Coordinator. Publicize the film submission process and the event on social media. Contact press to advertise or cover the festival.

Graphics Coordinator:

Design all promotional and printing material, including (but not limited to) posters, tickets, brochures, banners, and graphics for social media. Oversee the design and content on the Fokus page on the TVM website.

 Sponsorship Coordinator:

Find and contact sponsors (stores, publications, technology brands, etc.) to supply prizes for the festival winners. Oversee all logistics having to do with the acquisition and distribution of prizes, before and during the festival.

 72-Hour Competition Coordinator:

Oversee the 72-hour filmmaking competition by creating a “secret element”, organizing teams information and submissions.

 After Party Coordinator

Find and coordinate logistics with a venue to host the after-party for the festival attendees at which winners are announced. Expected to communicate with Music Coordinator.

 Music Coordinator:

Contact bands and/or music performers for the after-party. Coordinate all tech and logistics for the performances. (Recommended skills: knowledgeable or acquainted with sound and/or music tech).

 General Volunteer:

Assist in the set-up of the selection screening(s), the festival the day of the event, and the after-party. As well as supporting the promotional efforts and sales of tickets.

Application Deadline:  Friday February 20th by 3pm.

Interviews:  Saturday February 21st
